ROOM 1: HOLOGRAM INTRO
The space is conceived as an entrance to the symbolic world of sicanje. In the center, a hologram composed of a wheel and bracelet motif spins, while light projections pulsate to the rhythm of electronic music. The sound and a light layer of smoke create a sense of mystery.
ROOM 2: HISTORY OF SICANJE
This room introduces visitors to the history and development of sicanje – from the origin of the symbol to contemporary interpretations.
The right wall shows the origin of pre-Christian motifs and the way in which symbols have been preserved, adapted and changed their meanings throughout Bosnia's history, while the left wall leads through the development of the tradition itself - from the time of the Ottoman conquests, through its preservation, to its current presence in pop culture.
ROOM 3: ORNAMENTATION
The third room is dedicated to ornaments – the key visual motifs of sicanje.
The walls display the main ornaments with their names and meanings. The space is accompanied by the sound of rhythmic foot tapping in a circle, which enhances the sense of ritual and mysticism.
ROOM 4: VIDEO ROOM
The fourth, black, room creates an intimate space for the screening of a documentary film.
The film reconstructs the technique and ritual of the sicanje and connects them with the personal testimonies of people who convey their own experiences and meanings that sicanje there is for them.
ROOM 5: INTERACTIVE/SOUVENIR SHOP
The fifth room combines the interactive space and the museum shop.
Visitors can create and virtually try on their own temporary tattoos at smart tables and interactive mirrors, and purchase them as personalized souvenirs. On the opposite wall is a museum shop with branded items.
